Allied Universal® is hiring a Communications and Social Media Manager to be located at our Corporate Headquarters in Irvine, CA. The Communications and Social Media Manager is a high-profile, creative and demanding role on Allied Universal's corporate communications team, reporting directly to our VP of Communications. The Manager is responsible for execution of a portion of the company's North America social media strategy (crisis management and response, team member communications, reputational awareness); content creation; and social listening, social care and social reporting across all major platforms. The ideal candidate will continuously switch between being a creative storyteller, strategic planner, brand protector and communication expert - all while managing a constant stream of tasks.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Understand each social media platform's unique attributes and stay abreast of evolving social media trends to best convey Allied Universal in a relevant way
• Produce compelling posts and create short-form digital content to grab attention, expand audience and drive engagement
• Develop, implement and own a content calendar
• Practice social listening, social reporting and social care
• Proactively respond to comments, messages and mentions
• Assemble social media toolkits for various campaigns and initiatives
• Evaluate content performance and make recommendations for future content and strategies
• Monitor social media manually and using tools like Signal AI, Notified and Hootsuite Listening for overall sentiment, to identify risks and to report and respond swiftly to emerging issues (i.e. crisis/reputation management and response).This responsibility includes possible exposure to explicit, graphic and/or violent online content
• Mine for, develop and share compelling internal stories
• Develop and lead engagement with lenders and investors on various social media platforms

QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):

• Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, advertising, media studies, digital marketing, graphic design, marketing, English, business or a related field
• Two to five years of experience in communications and social media strategy roles
• Knowledge of content creation, social media platforms and best practices
• Highly motivated problem-solver with sound judgement and business intelligence
• Energetic, driven personality with a demonstrated ability to take initiative and collaborate effectively with others
• Professional, articulate and able to use good judgment
• Well-versed in creating reports and tracking results; comfortable with data collection and analysis
• Effectively prioritize tasks based on business contribution and need
• Creative, flexible and willing to adapt to new situations, processes, and directions
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task while maintaining attention to detail
• Demonstrated proficiency in communications (written and verbal); strong AP Style editing/proofreading skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE):

• Public company experience preferred
• Experience with Hootsuite or comparable social listening tools
• Experience with Adobe and/or Canva
• Prior experience with reputation management and media relations

BENEFITS:

• Pay: $75,000 - $100,000 base salary, plus annual bonus eligibility

• Eight paid holidays annually, five sick days, and four personal days
• Vacation time offered at an accrual rate of 3.08 hours biweekly. Unused vacation is only paid out where required by law.
