Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Director of Land Surveying to lead and manage our land surveying operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee all land surveying projects, including boundary and topographic surveys, construction stakeouts, as-built surveys, and digital surface modeling.
• Supervise field crews, assign tasks, and ensure efficient workflow.
• Conduct boundary computations and land record research.
• Import and process field data and create topographic maps using TIN surfaces.
• Maintain compliance with company standards, industry regulations, and local surveying laws.
• Provide training and mentorship to department staff, ensuring high-quality performance and accuracy.
• Collaborate with clients, engineers, and project managers to deliver successful projects.
• Occasionally serve as a crew chief as needed, working in various field conditions.

Required Qualifications:

• Licensed Land Surveyor (L.S.) in Connecticut, Massachusetts, or Rhode Island (preferred).
• Associate’s degree in Land Surveying or a related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
• Minimum of five years in a supervisory role within land surveying.
• Proficiency in Civil 3D software with at least four years of hands-on experience.
• Strong understanding of field survey methods, procedures, and industry best practices.
• Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to work in various weather conditions and terrains when necessary.
