Salary: $65,000 - $75,000 per year, depending on qualifications

The Levy Company is currently hiring an Electrical Estimator to gather, calculate, and compile data for use in conceptual / bid proposal estimates, preparing routine estimates and bid packages under general supervision.

Essential Functions may include, but are not limited to:

1. Calculate data, such as quantity take-off, bill of material, labor productivity, labor costs per manhour, and activity durations, to provide accurate and timely project estimates.
2. Research historical data (e.g. purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity reports) and compile project reference information for estimates.
3. Either directly identify supplier and solicit quotes or assist during preparation of inquiries packages and final evaluation of submitted bids.
4. Prepare routine estimates utilizing company estimating software.
5. Identify business opportunities and present to Operations Manager.
6. Calculate activity durations and work sequence.
7. Participate in handover meeting to project managers.
8. Maintain files of working documents and quotations to support estimation figures.
9. Collaborate with project managers and other internal stakeholders.
10. Research and determine potential projects to bid based on the strategic priorities of the company.

Required Qualifications:

1. Minimum of 1 year of electrical estimating experience using estimating software.
2. Bachelor’s degree in a related field, preferably Construction Management or engineering. (Significant electrical estimating experience beyond the minimum required may be considered in lieu of degree.)
3. Valid Texas driver license.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience estimating federal, heavy industrial, and / or airfield lighting projects.
2. Experience with Trimble Accubid Bid Winner estimating software.

Required Competencies:

1. Knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control, and material properties.
2. Skilled in using construction estimating software.
3. Ability to accurately calculate quantities using basic geometry and trigonometry.
4. Ability to work in and make conversions to metric system.
5. Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and construction documents.
6. Excellent computer skills to include MS Office Outlook, Word, and Excel.
7. Ability to drive a motor vehicle.
8. Ability to complete work accurately, efficiently, and timely under minimal supervision.

Working Environment:

Work is performed primarily indoors, sitting and performing work using a computer for long periods of time with occasional driving of motor vehicles.

Physical Demands:

1. Sitting for up to eight (8) hours per day.
2. Lifting and / or exerting of force up to 20 pounds occasionally and 5 pounds frequently.
3. Occasional walking, bending, squatting, stooping, twisting, kneeling, reaching, and crouching.
4. Visual acuity to drive a motor vehicle, read printed and electronic documents, and to distinguish colors used in blueprints and engineering drawings.
5. Hearing capacity to receive, perceive, and react to common office environment noises.
6. Manual dexterity to manipulate, handle, and feel.
