Description SUMMARY OF POSITION The IT Manager is responsible for planning and coordinating IT-related activities for Goodwill Industries of South Texas, ensuring efficient and effective processes are in place. The IT Manager provides user support for computer systems and application software such as analyzing, troubleshooting, and evaluating existing network systems (Lan, Wan, SQL, cloud). As a liaison between IT professionals and business partners, the IT manager excels in leading IT Operations and help desk support that relies on a ticketing system, documentation, and communication procedures.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES IT Project Management - Responsible for managing daily IT operations including system monitoring, defining, and maintaining operating procedures.
- Lead IT projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective communication, coordination, and successful project outcomes. Assist with complex installations or repairs.
- Create, assign, and manage support issues in the IT ticketing system. Ensure any critical issues are resolved in a timely manner to minimize business or customer impact. Implement new technologies and processes to improve efficiency and productivity.
Administrative - Monitor inventory of available hardware devices or computer accessories to assess purchasing needs.
- Participate in short and long-range planning to select and utilize appropriate technologies to meet the evolving needs of the company. Ensure all operations are performed in accordance with industry regulations and company policies and procedures.
Data Management and Security - Safeguard assets by planning and implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures and information security and control structures. Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions.
- Manage secure network access for remote users.
- Collaborate with IT professionals to implement disaster recovery plans to minimize downtime in the event of system failures or data breaches.
- Schedule upgrades. Ensure timely delivery of network application configuration updates.
- Adhere to and enforce safety and loss prevention procedures to prevent injury to personnel and damage to people, equipment, and inventory. Embrace the core values of the agency in the spirit in which the agency operates at work and in the community. Contribute to the fulfillment of department and agency objectives and goals. Comply with all department and agency policies, procedures, and regulations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor's degree and three years related experience in IT operations support position. Additional related experience may substitute for the education requirement.
- Valid Driver License, clean driving record, and carry minimum liability coverage as required by the State of Texas. Able to pass a criminal background check and drug test. Ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions, or other business-related events.
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, systems, and emerging technologies. A clear understanding of client/server technology and network architecture. Solid understanding of information security principles, data privacy regulations, and compliance frameworks. Experience supporting networking, server administration, voice systems.
- Ability to discuss technical issues effectively with other data processing professionals as well as non-technical users.
- Excellent decision-making skills, sound judgement and problem-solving ability. Be highly resourceful, with the demonstrated ability to be effective in an independent environment with little supervision.
