Job Title : IT Systems Administrator (US Citizens Only)
Location : Remote
We are currently seeking candidates who meet the following qualifications:
Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain the organization's IT systems, including servers, storage, networks, and cloud infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability.
- Install, configure, and manage operating systems (e.g., Windows Server, Linux, macOS) and enterprise applications.
- Manage virtualized environments (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, or KVM) and containerized solutions (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Monitor system health, performance, and usage metrics, addressing issues such as capacity planning, backups, and system failures.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues in a timely and efficient manner to minimize downtime.
- Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery strategies, ensuring data integrity and system availability.
- Perform regular software updates, patches, and security configurations to ensure systems are secure and up-to-date.
- Configure, deploy, and maintain network equipment such as firewalls, switches, and routers to ensure network stability and security.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls using directory services (e.g., Active Directory, LDAP) and identity management tools.
- Collaborate with the IT security team to implement security best practices, such as network segmentation, firewalls, encryption, and multi-factor authentication (MFA).
- Assist with cloud infrastructure management (e.g., AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud), including deployment and scaling of cloud-based resources.
- Develop and maintain system documentation, including configurations, processes, and troubleshooting guides.
- Provide technical support and guidance to other teams and end-users, assisting with escalated technical issues and project-related tasks.
- Automate routine administrative tasks using scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python).
- Participate in the design and implementation of new IT infrastructure, ensuring alignment with organizational needs and security standards.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with internal IT policies, industry standards, and regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOX).
- Maintain strong vendor relationships, handling hardware and software procurement, maintenance, and warranty management.
- Participate in on-call rotations for after-hours support as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience as an IT Systems Administrator or in a similar IT infrastructure role.
- Strong experience with server operating systems (Windows Server, Linux, etc.), including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Proficiency with networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, VLANs) and experience configuring network hardware (firewalls, routers, switches).
- Knowledge of storage technologies (SAN, NAS) and data backup/recovery tools (e.g., Veeam, Commvault, etc.).
- Experience with Active Directory, user management, and security policies.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python) to automate routine tasks and improve system efficiency.
- Strong understanding of IT security practices, including firewalls, VPNs, anti-virus/malware solutions, and intrusion detection systems.
- Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds) and performance management.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work under pressure to resolve system outages and performance issues.
- Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef) is a plus.
- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
- Strong communication and documentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Federal Experience is a plus.
- Required Security clearance.
