What this job involves - JLL is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic located in Franklin Lakes NJ. The Maintenance Mechanic must be able to perform and support general maintenance tasks to complete required preventive and corrective work orders assigned to Maintenance Mechanic and the Facility Team. Tasks include repair, maintain, restore, and replace various components of physical structures of building interiors and exteriors.

What is the day to day?

• Performs a variety of maintenance tasks requiring knowledge of plumbing, pipefitting, basic carpentry, electrical, electronics, and other skilled trades. 
• Perform a variety of preventative maintenance on pumps, motors, hydraulic systems, and related plant and facility equipment. 
• Maintain and repair plumbing components including toilets, urinals, lavatories, flush valves, water fountains, sinks, drains, water heaters, piping, and sump pumps. 
• Maintain lighting system bulbs and ballasts. 
• Operates a variety of hand and power tools, equipment, and machinery in the maintenance, repair, and fabrication of parts, machines and equipment. 
• Assists with plant inspections related to facilities for mechanical and equipment problems, reviews and examines areas and determines appropriate action(s). 
• Completes special tasks if needed that include but not limited to painting, locksmith work, office furniture repair and general maintenance as assigned. 
• Other assigned operational tasks as may be typically expected of the Maintenance Mechanic role. 
• Accurately completes work orders and paperwork regarding daily maintenance and repair duties. 
• Works day shift; including possible OT weekend work when needed.
• Assists with maintaining a clean and safe working environment. 
• Respond effectively to all emergencies. 

Desired experience and technical skills

Required

• High school diploma/GED
• Valid state driver’s license
• 2+ years of working experience in general building repair and maintenance, basic plumbing in a commercial or industrial environment
• Candidate must possess and provide own basic hand tools required to perform assigned work scope, while other tools and equipment are provided. 
• Comply with safety and operational guidelines, policies, and procedures. 
• Positive attitude and a willingness to do whatever it takes to learn and help grow our business. 

Preferred

• Completion of an applicable technical training program is desirable
• Holds a valid plumbing certification or license

Work Environment

• Must have ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs., use ladders up to 28 ft.
• Ability to work across 150 acres, which include 10 commercial buildings ranging between manufacturing, office and R&D space
