We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic Mechanical Division. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to large-scale, high-profile projects that shape the built environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, development, and testing of mechanical systems in various construction projects. The Mechanical Design Engineer will work closely with other engineering disciplines and architects to deliver successful projects that exceed client expectations while maintaining budget and schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Manage projects and effectively influence, negotiate, and communicate with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers and co-workers.
- Participate in the design development process to collaborate and value engineer construction methods to reduce time and cost.
- Establish and maintain project schedules and budgets along with the project managers, responsible for overall engineering product delivery.
- Manage internal engineering process, submittal review process and QA/QC with project managers to ensure our product is of the highest quality possible.
- Establish effective relationships and strive for a collaborative team environment.
- Assist in training new engineers within the organization.
- Work hand in hand with our Director of BIM Services to ensure our product is of the highest quality possible.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
2. Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is required.
3. Minimum of three years of experience in mechanical design in the construction industry.
4. Proficient in using Design Build methodology.
5. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection.
6. Proficient in using mechanical design software.
7. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
9. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
10. Familiarity with construction codes, standards, and regulations.
