A bit about us: We are currently an experienced Purchasing Agent to join our residential construction purchasing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned professional to contribute to a leading construction company with a significant national presence. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in driving our purchasing strategies, managing our vendor relationships, and ensuring the successful procurement of materials and services for our residential construction projects. Must have 3+ years of purchasing experience with a minimum of 5 years of construction related experience. This is an onsite, hybrid role located in Irvine, CA.

Job Details Responsibilities:
As a Permanent National Purchasing Agent, you will be responsible for the following:
- Develop and implement effective purchasing strategies across all residential construction projects.
- Manage and negotiate with suppliers and vendors to secure advantageous terms.
- Review and manage purchase orders and contracts to ensure compliance with company policies and project requirements.
- Oversee the procurement of materials, equipment, and services, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
- Collaborate with project managers and other team members to ensure clear communication and alignment on project specifications and timelines.
- Utilize your expertise in bidding strategies to secure competitive prices and terms on all purchases.
- Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand, adjusting purchasing plans as necessary.
- Conduct regular vendor evaluations to ensure compliance with standards and performance expectations.
- Keep abreast of market trends and changes that may impact supply and prices.
- Continuously seek opportunities for cost savings and efficiencies in the procurement process.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Permanent National Purchasing Agent role will possess the following qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of purchasing experience in the residential construction industry.
- Minimum of 5 years of construction related experience.
- Proven track record in vendor management and negotiation.
- Strong understanding of purchasing procedures and bidding strategies.
- Proficient in managing and executing purchase orders.
- Demonstrated experience in project management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and purchasing management software.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
