Louisville, KY , is looking to hire a
full-time Forensic Interviewer/Therapist to provide forensic interviews with children and adolescents.
This human services position earns an hourly pay of
$26.15 - $29.74 and a
$300 sign-on bonus paid over the first year . We also offer great benefits, including
medical, dental, vision, a 403(b) plan, paid time off (PTO), vacation time, paid sick time, up to 10 paid holidays, short- and long-term disability, and life insurance. A $200/month stipend is paid to assist you in the supervision needed to achieve your full licensure. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A FORENSIC INTERVIEWER/THERAPIST As a Forensic Interviewer/Therapist, you play a key role in providing interventions, coordination, collaboration, and advocacy services on behalf of children and families. This position utilizes trauma-informed, evidence-based practices and policies in its service delivery. The FI/Therapist works with law enforcement and prosecutors to ensure court-admissible information is collected, provides expert witness testimony for court, provides and coordinates information to all invested parties, and serves as a liaison to other treatment agencies. Additionally, the forensic interviewer's duties include conducting forensic interviews of children and adolescents when an allegation of abuse has been made, or a traumatic event has been witnessed.
Furthermore, you perform clinical work, including interventions, on behalf of children and families by providing trauma-informed services that will benefit the individual you're working with. You offer referral services when needed so your clients know the different resources available. You approach each case with compassion and empathy to ensure the children and families you work with feel comfortable around you. Being able to make a direct, positive impact on your clients' lives brings you great fulfillment and motivates you to put forth your best effort each day in this social work position!
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A FORENSIC INTERVIEWER/THERAPIST - Master's Degree in a mental health field
- 2 years post-degree experience in counseling, preferably with a population to be served to work as a therapist.
- With 3 years of experience and training (provided), you can work as a forensic interviewer
- License or certification to practice in the state where assigned
