Our focus on quality, sustainability, and innovation drives everything we do. We are seeking a dynamic Winemaker who will take full responsibility for the production and quality of our wines. In this role, you will lead and inspire the winemaking team, manage operations, and drive projects that foster creative thinking and strong communication, all while promoting a positive, safe, and collaborative work environment.

Examples of responsibilities (not limited to those listed below):
1. Winemaking & Production:
•  Lead and manage all aspects of winemaking and cellar operations.
•  Continuously improve processes by conducting routine tastings and winemaking evaluations.
•  Maintain and manage inventory for barrels, bottling supplies, and other winemaking materials.
•  Coordinate custom crush winemaking with clients.

2. Leadership & Team Management:
•  Foster an environment of growth and development within the production team.
•  Communicate company goals, standards, and performance through regular meetings and training sessions.
•  Oversee new and seasonal staff hiring and training, ensuring they align with our culture and values.

3. Business Operations:
•  Develop and manage annual operations and capital budgets.
•  Ensure compliance with all relevant legal requirements (wine, facility, employee, and safety regulations).
•  Proactively address any operational challenges to maintain smooth and efficient production.

4. Facility & Equipment Management:
•  Supervise the maintenance, organization, and optimization of winery facilities and equipment.
•  Research and implement innovative winemaking and facility equipment to enhance quality and operational efficiency.
•  Coordinate with external vendors for specialized maintenance or upgrades.

5. Market Engagement:
•  Represent the brand in the market as a passionate ambassador for Crossbarn.
•  Collaborate with the sales, marketing, and hospitality teams to create educational content and promote the brand.
•  Attend offsite events such as auctions, dinners, and pouring events to share the excitement of Crossbarn wines with a broader audience.

Basic job requirements:
1. Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in Enology or related science degree with Enology and Viticulture coursework.
2. Minimum of 6 years of winemaking-related experience.
3. Proficient with Outlook, Word, Excel and InnoVint.
4. Able to sit and/or walk and stand for most of the day: twist, bend, crouch, extend and have full range of motion in all varieties of physical movement.
5. Ability to lift and carry at least 50 lbs., or a 9L case of wine.
6. Able to work in adverse conditions: hot/cold weather, rain, concrete floors, walking stairs, etc.
7. Flexibility to work weekends and off hours when needed.
8. Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a forklift.
